The "Up the Ten Mile Creek" Disc Golf Club is seeking pledges of cash, discs, and other resources in support of their very promising efforts to expand and upgrade Saint Lucie County's first disc gold course - currently a 9-hole beauty, Ten Mile Creek Preserve, within Gordy Road Park.  Each hole will soon have two sets of concrete tees and two pin positions.  The course will be a mix of tight woods, open spaces, and challenging water holes.

Karen Smith, the Director of the Department of Environmental Resources in St Lucie County, which is the governing body for the preserve, is 100% in favor of the club's proposal to create an 18-hole course that will be the premier Disc Golf destination on the east coast of Florida.

As part of the evolving proposal, county officials have asked that the disc golf community demonstrate its commitment and generosity to this plan, by pledging to offset some of the county's expenses and ensure the development of community involvement (like getting kids to play disc golf).  So far we have managed to raise $250.00 in pledges of cash and equipment, which is just a start towards our goal of raising $5000.00.  We are going to hold fund-raising tournaments starting in December 2011.  WE NEED EVERYONE'S HELP TO RAISE THE REST!

Donations are tax deductable and no amount is too small.  We are in Phase I now, which is replacing the rubber tee pads on the existing nine with concrete pads.  The club's members have all volunteered to perform the work necessary to complete this phase without any cost to the County.  Each pad costs $110.00, and in recognition of a pledge to sponsor a pad, your name or your business' name will be printed on the tee pad sign.  Phase II will add the final nine holes.  At the conclusion of Phase II, we will be holding many PDGA sanctioned tournaments, which will bring upward to two hundred players to St Lucie county for each event.  Your sponsorship will be noticed by every player that steps up to YOUR tee pad.

The Tobacco Emporium will also collect donations for the club and we will donate 10% of every disc sale towards the clubs goal!!!!!
